Lee Mental Health Center, Inc. is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its case management,  crisis intervention and stabilization, family based services, out-of-home treatment, outpatient and residential treatment, supported living, employment and Foster Family services programs.  This is the first accreditation that Lee Mental Health has sought with the international accrediting commission.

This accreditation outcome represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the standards established by CARF.  An organization receiving a three-year accreditation outcome has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit that its programs and services are measurable, accountable and of the highest quality.

CARF is an independent, not-for-profit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served.  Founded in 1966 and widely known as CARF, this accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help organizations measure and improve the quality of their programs and services.

The Board of Directors of Lee Mental Health along with Senior Management decided to pursue CARF accreditation because it aligned more appropriately with the strategic plan and goals of the Center.  Lee Mental Health was formerly accredited by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Hospital Organizations.
